Our Recruitment Process - Candidates
We are continuously looking for qualified professionals to join us in helping clients solve their most challenging problems by leveraging the latest technologies.  We strive to make the hiring process a positive and professional experience for everyone, regardless of the outcome. To prepare you in the best possible way and to provide you with all the necessary information, we have outlined the different steps in our recruitment process below.

Please note that the process outlined below is a general one. Variations may occur depending on the type of position.
1
Source
We utilize a combination of targeted sourcing methods, including industry networks, advanced recruitment platforms, referrals, and passive candidate outreach to find top technical talent. Whether you apply through one of our open job positions, or you are contacted by a Bluelight recruiter, we work to ensure we find the right role for you.
2
Screening
Our recruiters will review your application, CV, English level, location, skills, and experience to ensure you have what it takes to be successful at Bluelight.
3
Preliminary Interview
Our initial interview process is designed to fit your schedule. Candidates who pass our screening will be invited to a recorded video interview that takes about 20 minutes to complete. This interview includes a series of pre-recorded soft-skill-oriented questions that you'll have to answer in real time in a recorded video format.
4
Interview Assessment
A Bluelight team member will assess your English communication skills, culture fit, and general soft skills to ensure you can articulate complex ideas clearly and align with the company culture.
5
Role-Based Challenge
Candidates who pass the initial assessment interview may be invited to complete a role-based challenge, which we use to verify applied skills. For software engineers, this could be a coding challenge. For system architects, this could be an architecture design challenge. For project managers, this could be creating a project brief and timeline.
6
Technical Skills Interview
During this one-on-one interview with a member of the Bluelight team, you will undergo a thorough assessment of your technical proficiency, applied experience, and problem-solving abilities through practical exercises and in-depth questions. If applicable, a review of your role-based challenge will also take place. This interview will be 30 to 60 minutes.
7
Contingent Offer
At this point of the process, if you have the right mix of skills, experience and grit to be successful, we will make you a contingent offer for the primary role you are applying for. This is a preliminary agreement to work for Bluelight, contingent upon being hired by a Bluelight client.
8
Profile Creation
Upon acceptance of the contingent offer, you will be invited to create a Bluelight profile and CV on our platform. This will be what we share with our clients to showcase your skills and experience.
CLIENT SELECTION AND ONBOARDING PROCESS
CLIENT SELECTION AND ONBOARDING PROCESS
The Bluelight team evaluates each request by our clients to find skilled and experienced candidates that meet their needs. If you are identified as a candidate of interest by one of our clients, you can expect the following client interview and onboarding process.
Client Interview
If you are invited for a client interview, it means that our client is impressed with your profile and considers you a potential match for their open position. Your Bluelight recruiter will reach out to you to schedule the interview between you and our client. The recruiter will provide you with an introduction to the client as well as any insights to the potential role and department you are interviewing for. The interview will most likely be conducted by the hiring manager for our client and will be focused on the match between the position and your profile. This is also your opportunity to ask any specific questions you have about the role, team, and work environment for this client.
Offer & Notice
Congratulations! If you’ve made it to this stage of the process that means that the hiring manager was impressed with you, and would like to bring you onto the team. At this point, the Bluelight recruiter will work with you and the client to settle on an expected start date. Bluelight will then send you an official offer letter and work contract. You will need to e-sign the agreement in order to proceed to the next step. Once the contract is signed, you should provide your current employer with proper notice.
Background Check & Employment Verification
After signing the contract, you will be sent an invitation via email to complete your background check and employment verification. This step is required to complete within 48 hours. If any issues of concern arise from your background check, or if your past employment cannot be verified, you will be notified. Any issues that cannot be resolved within 48 hours may result in termination of your contract.
Onboarding
We intend to give you the best possible beginning to your new journey and make you feel welcome from day one. You will receive an email with a link to the onboarding system in which you can find relevant materials about Bluelight and working for us. Your new manager may also create an Onboarding Plan to make sure everything is ready when you join. On your first day you will meet with a member of the Bluelight team for orientation, and to ensure you are properly connected and set up in our systems, including our Bluelight email and Slack. This meeting will take place prior to starting your first day with the client.
Start
Congratulations! If you’ve passed all the previous steps, you should now be starting with our client. Bluelight will check-in with you throughout the day on your first day, and at the end of your first week. If you have any questions or concerns at any point, please feel free to reach out to us directly via email or Slack. We are here to support you.
